Give Your Money Routine a Checkup

Hey folks, Art here. We remember to change the air filter, eventually. The automatic payments and transfers we set up years ago could use a checkup, too.

A financial reset can be a calm review of whether your money routine still fits your life.

Review four things

What to review What to ask
Savings goals Can I tell which money is for emergencies and which is for planned expenses?
Recurring charges Do I still use what I’m paying for?
Account organization Do I know where money comes in and which account pays each bill?
Automatic transfers Do the amounts and dates fit my income now?

Look for changes in real life

A new job, different childcare costs, or a family member moving home can make an old arrangement less useful. Start with the change you know happened. Then see which payment or transfer needs a closer look.

Don’t close an account just because you want a shorter list. Check outstanding payments, linked deposits, fees, and any other consequences first.

Choose one adjustment you can maintain

Maybe it’s labeling savings goals. Maybe it’s canceling a membership you no longer use. Maybe it’s reviewing a transfer that leaves checking tight before payday. Confirm any timing change with the provider before relying on it.

If a home purchase around Atlanta is part of your plans, this review gives us a better starting point than a quick glance at your balance.

Let’s talk about the home you want and the breathing room you want to keep.
