Melissa Calhoun brings over two decades of financial and lending experience to the Art Wood Mortgage Team, along with the calm, client-first approach that comes from doing just about every job in the book. From branch manager to HELOC specialist to loan originator, Melissa knows the ins and outs of banking and mortgages. She brings all that knowledge to every file she touches.

“I’ve worn a lot of hats in this business, but my favorite part is still helping people feel supported through big life moments,” says Melissa.

Melissa grew up in Anderson, South Carolina, started college at Clemson, and graduated from the University of South Carolina. She now lives in Greenville with her two kids. When she’s not working, she loves traveling, spending time with friends and family, and trying to sneak in a good book when life slows down just enough.

Melissa began her career in 1999 in the mortgage department of a local bank. Since then, she’s worked across nearly every area of the banking world, including client service, home equity lending, and branch leadership. She returned to mortgages full time in 2017 and brings care, clarity, and confidence to every step of the process.
